- I am the Admin for KOB. KOB is an environmental awareness group. We our the environmental educators for Onslow County, NC. We also started and coordinate the School Recycling Program and other programs throughout the County. We also coordinate the International Coastal Cleanup NC Big Sweep for Onslow County and we also started and coordinate the Annual Earth and Surf Fest in North Topsail Beach. The E&S Fest is an environmental awareness event that also incorporates a Surf Comp, VBall Tourney for the Turtles, Paddleboard Race, Beach Cleanup, and ICW Cleanup.
I am also involved with other organizations like:
Surfrider Foundation,
Ocean Conservancy,
SCM,
ESA,
CRA,
Wrightsville Beach Longboard Assoc.
and others...
I have been surfing for over 10 years now and the ocean is a big part of my life and practically a family member. I sail, swim, fish, snorkle, etc. I take pride in being an Eastern NC native and with that pride comes responsibility. I believe in taking care of our waterways for the future. You can find me most weekends picking up trash along the beach when the waves are bad. It is a good hobbie to have. No one likes a trashy beach!
