- Western is one of the nation's leading credit unions with over $1.4 billion in assets and over 120,000 members across the country.
Credit unions have some similarities to banks, such as both offer financial products like checking and savings accounts, mortgages, credit cards, and vehicle and personal loans. Plus, both are federally insured. But that's where the similarities stop.
For over 60 years, credit unions have successfully operated as not-for-profit financial cooperatives - which means profits are returned to members in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings, and low or no fee services.
All members of a credit union are also owners of that credit union. Member-owners control the credit union with equal votes regardless of the size of their account.
Western’s mission is simple: "We exist to provide superior service and high quality financial products and services to our members."

"SOUNDS 2 SAVE" Playlist Contest
Hey everybody!
As part of this year's International Surfing Day celebration, Western Federal Credit Union is holding a SOUNDS 2 SAVE playlist contest.
All you need to do is add a comment below with your top 10 picks for songs you would most want to listen to while doing a beach clean-up. There's no criteria other than you must post 10 songs that you think would be great tunes to listen to while you're out there keeping our beaches clean.
