hey there Zhenya, you should enter the “How to Make Someone Ocean Minded” An essay/photo contest on how they brought the experience of being “Ocean Minded” to someone new on ISD. Teach someone to surf, clean up the beach, etc… To submit essay/photos, you must join the ISD community. Go to www.intlsurfingday.com and click on the community tab. Fireworks controversy - to display or not to display?

Heal the Ocean of SB County got front cover in the News-Press for their protest for the 4th of July Fireworks display. Apparently, they sent a letter to the Mayor as well as the pyrotechnics company stating that the display of the fireworks over West Beach is a violation of the Clean Water Act.
